Booking Procedures
Your Decision to Include Maison Whispin In Your Travel Plans: The owners of Maison Whispin applaud your choice of their home for your stay in the Provence, Alps, Cote d’Azur region of France. They pledge to do everything possible to earn this and your return business as well as that of your friends and family. It is important to the owners that you are satisfied with what you know and what you learn about your choice of this extraordinary property and your trip to the South of France. Your Reservation Must Be Confirmed. As soon as you have decided to rent Maison Whispin, please send your request for a reservation to
gbventures@verizon.net. Delay may result in your losing your preferred dates. Upon receipt of your reservation request and after assuring that the dates are available, a Rental Agreement will be sent to you by fax, e-mail or other mode of delivery. The method depends on your stated preference. The Rental Agreement will confirm all amounts to be paid, when they are to be paid as well as the maximum number of persons who may occupy the property overnight. The Rental Agreement is a binding contract. It details the terms and conditions of rental.
After making a copy for your records, please return the signed Rental Agreement. It and the initial payment must be received within seven days from the date your reservation was accepted in order to lock in your preferred dates.
Your Initial Payment: The initial payment amounts to 50 percent of the total rental price as shown on the Rental Agreement.
Checks only. Only checks payable as noted in the Rental Agreement are accepted for payment. We regret that other forms of payment cannot be accepted. However, wire transfers are available to international clients from Euro Zone accounts.
Receipts: All payments will be confirmed formally along with a note of any balances due.
Your Final Payment: All monies due after the initial payment, including the security deposit, must be received no less than 60 days prior to the first day of your rental. If the arrival date is within 60 days of the date of booking, the total rental amount and security deposit is considered the “final payment” and is due before any booking can be final. Failure to pay the Final Payment will be considered a cancellation.
Upon receipt of the final payment, a Rental Voucher with directions to the property and helpful hints meant to enhance your Maison Whispin experience will be sent to you.
If Cancellation Occurs: If written notice of cancellation is received by the owners 180 days or more before the first day of the rental period, 50 percent of the initial deposit will be returned. If the written notice of cancellation is received less than 180 days before the first day of the rental period, none of the deposit will be refunded. No monies will be returned if written notice of cancellation is received less than 60 days before the first day of the rental period.
Trip Cancellation Insurance is recommended.
Security Deposit: Maison Whispin owners require a refundable security deposit in addition to rent. This deposit is described in the Rental Agreement. This deposit must be received no later than the date of the final payment.
Experience has shown that all or substantially all of a client's security deposit is returned within two to three weeks of departure. However, it might be necessary to escrow a small amount until phone charges generated during the guests’ stay are received by the owners. This is required because even though the owners have taken steps to provide toll free calls and internet connection, sometimes mistakes by guests are made and charges result. The delay is necessary because French telephone bills are sent on a bi-monthly rather than monthly basis.
In the unlikely event that a dispute arises, French procedures and fora are available for resolution.
